Functional Remedies’ Waldstein joins AHPA board

Functional Remedies’ senior vice president of operations is joining the board of the American Herbal Products Association. Asa Waldstein has picked up a one-year board appointment with AHPA, a trade association focused on the herbal products industry and promoting informed access to herbal goods.

“I’m honored to re-join AHPA’s prestigious board,” said Waldstein, who joined Superior, Colo.-based Functional Remedies in May. “AHPA has been a leader in the herbal products marketplace for 40 years and has continued to lead the hemp conversation for over a decade with its Cannabis Committee. I am very thankful to the board for electing me to serve with its esteemed members.”

Waldstein has previously served as an AHPA board member and was voted in by the board’s chair in 2019 to its Cannabis Committee, which allows him to shape hemp and dietary supplement regulations and compliance efforts.

Waldstein is a certified clinical herbalist with more than 20 years of experience in operations at businesses working at the intersection of clinical herbalism, bioavailable nutrient delivery and scientific evidence. He also currently is a member of the American Herbalist Guild and hosts the Boulder Hemp-CBD Education and Networking series, aimed at helping strengthen the Colorado hemp community.
