Cornbread Hemp’s lotions go organic

Cornbread Hemp’s lotions are going organic. The Louisville, Ky.-based company has reformulated its best-selling CBD lotions with organic ingredients, making it so all of the brand’s topicals and creams bear the USDA Organic seal, following suit with its CBD oils.

The company noted that for a CBD brand to be certified organic, it has to be audited by a third-party certifier, which examines the supply chain of every ingredient to meet the USDA’s National Organic Program standards.

"Today is another big day at Cornbread Hemp," said Jim Higdon, Cornbread Hemp's co-founder and chief communications officer. "To our knowledge, this makes us the first CBD brand in America to offer a full line of CBD topical products that are USDA organic, full-spectrum and made from a flower-only extract. We are pioneers in crafting the highest quality hemp-derived CBD products in America because that's what our customers expect."

Cornbread Hemp’s organic products are grown in Kentucky using sustainable farming practices. Following harvest, hemp flowers are removed and then extracted using organic sugarcane ethanol, yielding a full-spectrum hemp extract that includes cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids for use in the company’s products.

Founded in 2018 by Higdon and his cousin Eric Zipperle, Cornbread Hemp in 2019 became the first Kentucky-based brand to offer UDSA Certified Organic CBD oil.
